The whole night of tossing, turning, and being unable to fall asleep is something many of us have faced in our lifetimes! You lay there not comfortable at all, trying to get comfortable. But in the end all you end up doing is making yourself more aggravated and more unable to fall back alseep.
To fall back asleep rather quickly there are many things you can do. Be very careful with what you take or what you do to fall asleep because there can be very negative side effects.
The medications your doctor may prescribe can be filled with or contain many side effect inducing, unnatural chemicals. These chemicals can have nasty side-effects. You may feel “hung over” with a headache. Or you may wake up after taking a prescription sleeping pill and feel like you are completely out of it. Like an out of it zombie. And with a pill causing side-effects like that you would be better off without it.
So what steps do you need to take to get some real sleep? There are many things a person can do to increase the likelihood of their falling asleep and staying asleep.
Your bedroom should be as free as possible of any noises that may distract you or keep you awake. When you are trying to sleep the last place your pets need to be is in the bedroom with you. Do not allow light into your bedrooom. What would really work also are some blackout curtains. Make sure there is not light in the room when you’re trying to sleep! There are many instances where certain noises or sounds will help you get to and stay asleep. You can try some low volume music or a sound machine. The noise machines that feature ocean waves or a babbling brook are often very effective.
There are also natural sleep aids like Melatrol that you can take. Melatrol is all natural so there’s no side effects (like you find with prescription medications). Melatrol fearures a hormone that helps you fall asleep (Melatonin). These sleep aids are very effective and they are also not addictive.
